SAINT Lookbook Ruby Hill

a letter from the editor (designer)

Happy New Year!

I decided to open with a 'letter from the editor' of sorts for 2024.

I came across this post yesterday by Lucianne Tonti on the Rule of Five - a campaign for buying just 5 items each year coined by Tiffanie Darke - and it got me thinking, particularly the line 'imagine how treasured those 5 items are going to be'.

I probably purchased asimiliar amount in 2023, given I do have my own clothing label, this was a lot easier to attain as I have not included the new SAINT pieces I added to my wardrobe and I mostly stick to rewearing my favourites.

I do think long and hard on the pieces that catch my eye, and they've typically taken up space in my notes app well before purchase. I'm sharing the pieces that made the cut with the aim to inspire purchasing less but better and, I can confirm, treasured pieces. In chronological order:

1. Jacquemus Les Mules Limone heels purchased via My Chameleon to wear to friends wedding. I love the 'ugly shoe'ness of them, also the squidgey sole is quite fun to walk on/in. These are sold out everywhere but see similar here.

2. KYE INTIMATES loungewear set (pants version) in black purchased from  Moje Store, my chic dog walking outfit (in 2023 I became a dog mum)

3. maybe my favourite purchase of the year ~a vintage Issey Miyake pleat (predates Pleats Please) tube skirt in black, a holiday birthday from Bruce Hobart Tasmania. I'll upload an image to my personal Instagram for the sake of this email, the vintage label is so beautiful.

4. Porto Pouch in Americano. I love the design of this sweet little bag. I receive many compliments every time I wear it (several times per week) and the brown is a welcome difference to a typically all black outfit.

5. my most recent purchase, December, a FLORE FLORE t-shirt in navy. This brand is making moves in the Organic Cotton (!) t-shirt and tank world. They are based out of Amsterdam with the pieces made in Portugal and can be purchased from CARMEN STORE and also locally in Australia, Camargue.

& of course, rewearing lots of SAINT pieces.

On saint-thestore.com we have restocked our silk shirt offering in Chocolate, Black Satin and Black Sheer and the Organic Cotton Shirt in Black
We have a belt delivery due within the next couple of days, a replenishment of our sold out apparel styles + sizes coming within the next two weeks, around 10 new designs in the sampling process, new wholesale partners, SAINT muse interviews, new buttons! and some smaller projects in the works.
As you are subscribed to this e-mail, you will be first to know.

Thank you for being here. Laura

I tend to mix it up – I jump between timeless/classic or a big glam moment. I don’t usually lean into the trends so can find myself grabbing outfits from my wardrobe year after year. I’m all for go...
